Recent Grounds Maintenance Contracts

Gloucestershire County Council South Cotswold Schools Contract April 2007
Schools Contract for the South Cotswolds area of Gloucestershire County Council with a value of £350,000. The works comprise of sports field maintenance, grass cutting, rose and shrub bed maintenance, hedges, etc.

Isle of Wight Council Schools Contract January 2007
Schools Contract comprising: Maintenance of the Eastern half of the island encompassing libraries, museums and schools. Sports pitch maintenance covering grass cutting, marking and various agronomic operations to Football, Rugby, Hockey, Athletics tracks and Cricket. Other maintenance operations include hedges, rose and shrub beds and ornamental lawns, conservation a large mowing. Wyevale initially started this contract in 1995 and this is the third time it has been awarded to Wyevale following a tendering process and will now run until the end of 2010 with an optional 3 year extension.

Rooftop Housing Worcestershire Northamptonshire North Somerset, West Midlands, Gloucestershire January 2006
On 1 January 2006, Wyevale commenced a new Partnership contract for Rooftop Housing Association for the maintenance of all their landscape areas covering not just the Worcestershire properties but also all their other properties, which includes Northamptonshire, North Somerset, West Midlands and Gloucestershire. The service covers all aspects including grass cutting, shrub maintenance, hedge cutting and tree works. Wyevale have undertaken the grounds maintenance services for the Association since its incorporation and prior to that had undertaken as part of the District Council contract. Wyevale have therefore been maintaining the areas since 1993 and under this contract are now guaranteed until 2010 and there is an optional two year extension which means that should this be taken up Wyevale will have maintained the areas for almost 20 years.

University of Sussex Brighton September 2005
Wyevale has been awarded a contract worth in excess of £300,000 per annum for the maintenance of the University campus and sports ground. The contract commenced on 1 September 2005 and is for an initial three years with a two year optional extension. The work covers a wide range of operations including road sweeping, grass cutting, fine turf maintenance and tree and shrub maintenance. The standard of the football pitches is very high as it is used by Championship football club Brighton & Hove Albion.


South Warwickshire Housing Association Stratford upon Avon April 2005
On 1 April 2005, Wyevale was awarded the contract for the maintenance of the housing areas in the Stratford upon Avon area for South Warwickshire Housing Association. This is the third time that the company has been awarded the contract and was re-tendered after a two year extension on the last contract. The contract also has an option for a two year extension. The works cover cleansing, grass and shrub maintenance and hedge cutting.

Runnymede Borough Council Surrey January 2005
Wyevale have been successful in winning a contract with Runnymede Borough Council. A six year contract with a three year optional extension, the contract started on 1 January 2005 with a total value of over £2m. The work encompasses verges, parks, sports fields and general grounds maintenance contract covering the areas surrounding Chertsey in Surrey.

North Somerset Council Somerset January 2005
Wyevale have been successful in winning a substantial contract with North Somerset Council. A five year optional extension the contract started on 31 January 2005 with a total value of over £10m. The work encompasses parks, sports fields and general grounds maintenance contract covering the areas of Weston-super-Mare, Clevedon, Portishead and surrounding towns and villages of North Somerset. The work covers areas around the busy season town of Weston. The contract was awarded on the basis of “Best Value” and Wyevale were not the cheapest tender. David Brew, Managing Director stated, “This is an exciting win for the company and it is pleasing to have a contract which is virtually on our doorstep and we are looking forward to delivering the service that the client requires.

Lewes District Council Lewes March 2004
Wyevale were successful in winning a substantial contract with Lewes District Council. The ten year contract starts on 1 March 2004 with a total value of £8m. This is a cemeteries, parks, sports fields and general grounds maintenance contract covering the areas of Lewes, Seaford and surrounding villages. Wyevale will also be delivering a parks warden service to improve security and increase liaison between the users and the authority during peak season.

London Borough of Bromley London January 2004
A four year grounds maintenance contract for cemeteries and closed churchyards. This commenced on 1 January 2004. Works include grass cutting, annual bedding, shrub bed maintenance and grave digging. Contract value approximately £1m.

Elmbridge Borough Council London March 2002
Contract for Cemeteries and Closed Churchyards. Grass cutting, annual bedding, shrub, hedge and rose bed maintenance, cleansing. Five year contract. Value £553,458.00

Isle of Wight Council Integrated Contract Isle of Wight January 2002
We undertake an Integrated Grounds Maintenance Contract covering: Parks, Gardens, Sports Grounds and Open Spaces within the South of the island, cemetery services, weed spraying, grass & hedge cutting to the whole of the island. Comprising: Sports pitch maintenance and management of putting and bowling greens, shrub bed maintenance, annual bedding, bird maintenance, grave digging, grass cutting of parks, cemeteries and highway verges. Six year contract, value £4.8m.
